At this point we all know that Lebron James, strongly considered Top 2 basketball players of all time, has recently crossed the 40,000 point barrier as the first and only player to ever accomplish such a feat. En route to such a tremendous accomplishment in the basketball community Mr. James is the owner of many other titles and records.

As many of us know LeBron James is a 4 time MVP, 4 time NBA Champion, 4 time finals MVP, 20 time all star, 19 time all NBA team and the list of basketball accomplishments can stuff a stat sheet with ease. Here are some facts and records about Mr. James that you may not have known.

from ESPN

1.Although LeBron James has scored majority of his 40,000 points with his right hand, LeBron is actually left handed and only shoots left handed. His ex Lakers teammate Russel Westbrook also shares this fun fact, shooting right handed but is left handed outside of basketball.

2.We all know LeBron was not the first player to be selected in the NBA draft straight out of high school but, he was the first to be selected with the first overall pick straight out of high school and has lived up to the hype.

3.Did you know the reason LeBron James gave up football was due to an injury to his wrist? While recovering from the injury he missed the entire football season and never looked back going full steam ahead with Basketball.

4.Although a king on the basketball court, LeBron is also a minority owner of the English Premier League Soccer Club Liverpool F.C.

5.He opened the “I PROMISE School” in Akron, Ohio, in 2018, which provides educational opportunities and support for at-risk children and their families.

6.Lebron James and Stephen Curry were born in the same hospital the Summa Health System in Akron Ohio.

7.Muhammad Ali’s 2019 documentary film What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali has LeBron James listed as one of the producers under his production company SpringHill Entertainment.

8.Lebron’s first dunk came at the young age of 13 in a student vs. teacher game in the 8th grade. Word is LeBron got an open fast break and the rest is history.

9.In 2002 Lebron attempted to enter the NBA draft a year prior to graduating high school. After his junior year LeBron was ready for the big league but at the time the rule was you had to 18 and a high school graduate. The league rejected this petition.

10.What used to be a ritual of LeBron James’ pregames. LeBron has all but given up the chalk toss before games. Although he still can be seen preparing with powder before games, he has not steadily done the chalk toss since the 2014-15 NBA season.

No matter what the fact or record is we know LeBron even in his 21st season has a lot left in the tank and will continue to knock down whatever challenges he faces. Following a kid from Ohio makes all of our dreams seem attainable. Congratulations on 40,000 points LeBron!
